About The Author, Lynn R. Wilson
This cookbook has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. The party ideas, invitations, menus and recipes are all “tried and true” from me, family and friends. As I flip through the pages I remember, fondly, the friendships that were shaped and the memories that were made as we hosted each of these parties! It is my hope that this book will lead to many fond memories for you, as well.
I was born in Bloomington, Indiana. My father was in the Army, so I spent the first twelve years of my life as an “Army brat.” My parents loved to entertain so I came to love cooking and entertaining through them.
After graduating from Indiana University, I married Bob, my high school sweetheart and we began our amazing military journey. After thirty-eight years and many exciting tours including Germany, Hawaii, Cairo, Egypt, and various continental U.S. assignments, Bob retired as a Lieutenant General and we settled in Texas near our son Brian and his wife Sharon and their three sons, Jack, Sam and Ty, and our daughter, Elizabeth and her husband Brent and their three children Adalynn, Austin, and Lucas.
Some of my favorite memories as a mom and “Nana” have been cooking with my family. The kids all had an active role in selecting some the recipes in this book. This is not only a cookbook, it is a “party in a book” as my sister, Lucy, so adequately describes it. My hope is that “At Ease” will bring your friends and family together to form your own special memories.
